I have the honour to acknowledge the receipt of Sir Edward Wingfield's despatch No.183 of the 8th September transmitting a copy of correspondence relating to Mr. H. Dixon's claim to receive an allowance for Exchange Compensation, from which I have observed that Mr. Dixon is not to receive the allowance in question.

2. I have now the honour to transmit for your consideration the enclosed copy of a letter from Mr. Dixon forwarded by the Postmaster General for favourable consideration.
